Hi,
I am Payal, a passionate baker and owner of my home based cakes and treats business “Cakey Bakey Doo”. I am also a proud mother of two wonderful kids and wife to a very supportive husband.
Baking is what makes me happy. “Bakers make the world smell better” was the mantra in my home in India. This is the place where my creativity took roots, surrounded by the wonderful aroma, and soaking in flavours that originated from our large joint family kitchen. My Aai (mother) and Mothi Aai (grandma) imparted priceless knowledge and culinary tips about baking, cooking and life. We baked together as a family, it made us happy and made us a very close knit group.
My formal education as an interior designer further fuelled my creativity for baking. I was already a baking enthusiast but I wanted to hone my skills and acquire proficiency. I went ahead and got myself certified and trained in cake decorating techniques such as icing, fondant figurines and developed my own recipes.
With the right ingredients in my bag and backed by constant love and encouragement of family & friends, I started “Cakey Bakey Doo” in 2015.
After migrating to Australia, I have worked hard to understand local tastes and regulations. It gives me immense pleasure to say that Cakey Bakey Doo is a registered business with Glen Eira Council.
My approach to baking is very simple. A cake is a labour of love. I love to discuss the client’s ideas and help them envision the beautiful creation that they are entrusting me to bring to life. I then work towards realising this design using only the finest ingredients to create a flavoursome and special experience.
I truly hope that I will get to be a part of your special occasions as “every cake has a story to tell”.
